Summary: Toma's thoughts during the SC ep when he was Mr. X



He exhaled slowly and took other shaky breath. It was almost time for his appearence. After what had seemed like years he was finally going to be on Shounen Club again. To be in front of the fans performing again.

Toma ran a hand through his hair and smoothed out his clothes. From behind the dark curtain he could hear Koyama speaking to the 4 members of NewS as they tried to guess who Mr. X was. A few minutes later and Toma heard Jimmy speaking. He wondered if the clues Jimmy gave would lead one of the other boys to figure out his identity.

The fangirls tittered excitedly as the guesses were revealed one by one. Only one boy had guessed right. The only one that mattered.

"Toma." Was all Yamapi had said. His voice calm and knowing. Toma could almost see Yamapi brushing his hair out of his face with a confident smile as Koyama questioned his assumption.

Toma closed his eyes and swallowed. He felt a wave of relief wash through him, knowing that one person who should have known did know.

He heard the fans start screaming as Koyama called for the curtain to be raised. Taking another deep breath Toma spread his arms into a humorous pose and plastered a smile on his face. Suddenly he was standing there with the fans screaming and all the other boys save one were gaping in surprise. He tightened his grip on the microphone and descended down the stairs with a wide smile.

Koyama began speaking almost immediately but Toma drowned him out. Glancing to his side Toma had to stop himself from jumping when he realized Yamapi had moved so much closer to him. Uncertain, he smiled at the other boy and to his utter relief Yamapi smiled back.

When they had lifted their hands for a handshake Toma couldn't wipe the grin off his face. He had missed it so much. Missed just being on stage and seeing the fans. Missed him.

Then Yamapi had jerked his hand back and Toma flung his arm sideways in an awkward attempt to play things off. His mood dampened when he straightened up, suspicious of what lay ahead. But he looked to the side to see Yamapi still smiling his calm little smile only this time there was laughter in his eyes and Toma laughed out loud, right back with him.
